Public Policy and Planning in NYC

No city is more exciting than New York City. We analyze the structure of New York City government and the distinctive patterns that influence public policy. This course looks at critical issues such as transportation, economic development, demographic change, disaster response, education, and public safety.

 

UNDERGRADUATE

The Politics of New York

We explore the structure of the municipal government, the role of the mayor and city council, the way in which state and regional agencies affect public services, and the role of the media in the political life of New York City.
